A letter from a friend to me is wonder! From an acquaintance I haven’t heard from in a long while is wonderful, especially when it is full of graceful words.
I got a letter out of the blue. Yes, out of the blue.
Dear Fellow,
On Monday, 5th September 2022, I received yet another lengthy letter just like the longest I first received. The letter also spans eight pages of A5 sheets (14.8 cm by 21 cm paper). I am yet to reply to the letter. Though it is written by hand, I will be replying to it via e-mail. I hope you will permit me to not reply by hand. I will share a detailed narrative of how I received the letter in the next episode of this series.
I shared a snapshot of the letter on Facebook with a compelling caption to inspire anyone who cares to reconsider the traditional way of writing letters. A friend shared the post on her timeline. Someone responded to the post expressing her fascination with handwritten letters. The comment attracted me. I replied and we got into an extended exchange until we went into DM. I was the first to reach out by texting my e-mail address.
Before bedtime, I got a letter from the fellow. It turned out we had conversed long before now, some two years ago or so. Quite intriguing because I was interacting with her as one faraway acquaintance. Social media has afforded us more acquaintances than we bargained for, quickly calling them friends at our own peril yet with mysterious blessings.
The letter was short and punchy. It contained some bits of poetry, fine grammar precision, and hopeful words.
The fellow intends to write to me by hand, perhaps via the post office. I am anticipating that piece as well. Not only the piece but also the narrative of using the post office; what the process is like, the condition of the post office, likes and dislikes toward the system, etc.
I have received a few other such letters; but a letter from an acquaintance on the blue app with graceful words I have not had in a long, long while.
Have you written to a loved one yet? Why not write to that old acquaintance you have always wanted to reach but have been procrastinating? Your letter may just be the final ray of light to bring hope to the heart of the fellow.
Your LetterMan,
Tongjal, W. N.
PS: If you please, share what recent wonder you had around a letter, handwritten or otherwise, in the comment.

It would be great if you reply your friends later same way he wrote you.
